The day after Armageddon
by Pronger1 injws are scattered across the globe.
a few million people left, pretty isolated from each other.. telephone lines and power goes down since the people who supported the infrastructure are dead.
communication across town, state, country, etc is cut off.

In praise of Randall Watters
by nicolaou inexjw's of a certain age will remember randy's site well.
freeminds was instrumental in waking me up along with ray franz's books.
if net soup and armageddon okies mean nothing to you you're probably under 30.. whatever caused randy to post what he did recently is something i can only guess at but it won't be what i remember him for.. randy, i wish you well and thank you for all you've done over the years .

i know Cantleave doesnt write on here much anymore--so i pasted Randall Watters recent post on to Cantleaves facebook message so he didnt miss it.
i dont know Randall at all--i never looked at Freeminds, but Cantleave said to me he thought Randall was one of the nicest guys he'd ever met.

Some apostates are coming across as crazed psychopaths
by jambon1 ini'm not sure whether or not my view on this is correct so please leave your input.
in recent months i've been viewing youtube videos.
again, it might just be my view but there has been an increased amount of random people grabbing a camera and doing vlogs.

i suppose the watchtower class everyone who leaves---or gets chucked out-----as apostates.
some apostates do take an active roll--in one form or another--in opposing the cult.
but i rather imagine there are far more ex jw's who simply want to forget it all--and draw a line under it--and get on with their lives.
as far as the normal outside world is concerned----someone who says they used to be a JW is like saying they used to be a member of a golf club--it means nothing.

More congregations? One of the strategies they used to inflate the numbers in my city.
by Tempest in a Teacup ini looked at the 2017 yearbook figures this morning, and it reminded me of something which happened in my former congregation 2 years ago.
it was a tiny foreign language congregation with at most 25-30 publishers.
comes and splits a 30 member congregation into....three.

Which is why the decline this year in number of congregations in countries like the United States and Germany is so promising in terms of the prospects for overall JW decline.
here--in the isle of wight--in the UK--over the last few years..the following has occurred.
Cowes congregation had withered--so was disbanded and merged with the Newport congregation. the hall was sold off.
Newport had 2 congregations sharing a hall ( a former holy roller church )
Ryde hall is now up for sale ( half a £ million )--because of diminishing membership. the congregation will share the Newport hall.
Sandown and Shanklin share a hall.
Freshwater has its own hall.
so there will be just 3 halls left here.

Clearly, they're hunting down irregular publishers
by ILoveTTATT2 inlook at this graph:.
it has the % difference between the peak number of publishers and the average number of publishers for that year.
this number can only be positive.. what the graph tells us is that there is a clear trend towards hunting down inactive and/or irregular publishers.

just a thought. does a bro who is giving the public talk count the time as preaching--after all--there are bound to be some unbaptised ones in the audience ?

Not one visit, 8 years in a nursing home, and not one visit!
by Raymudas Martini inmy dad{rip}, was a faithful jw since the year i was born, i'm 60, he died 2 years ago.
his last 12 years were spent in an assisted living/nursing home right in the small town where he spent the last 8 years of being an elder/pioneer.
when he went into the home, one brother would visit him regularly, but after 4 years, that friend moved away, and visitation from the locals ceased, for 8 years!!!!!!!

my old dad died a year ago. 95. he had been in a care home 3 years. all elder visits dwindled. his own granddaughter--my daughter.---never visited him--ever. she lived less than a mile away.
i know he donated £5000 to the KH fund--which ended up sold--guess where the money went. he also donated £100 a month. i got power of attorney--and put a stop to that.
i organised his funeral--and forgot to notify the congregation he had died.

Now I'm Convinced There Probably Is No God
by pale.emperor inyesterday i made a visit to the museum in my city.
the top floor is the planetarium, which has a connecting room with a huge dome ceiling where they project lessons and lectures and you have a 360 view of the night sky etc.. this particular lecture explained about our galaxy, and how it's only one of billions in the universe.
and then we learned about each planet, some of their moons and the sun.

Then if I do have one off the wrist, he'll kill me.
LOL
problems really kick in if you start to think about god when you do !

Britain in the doldrums!
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inthe 2014 - 2015 jw statistics showed a peak publisher decline of 884 with the average publisher tally showing a gain of 183. .
the 2017 yearbook is now available via jw.org and the statistics for britain show a 2016 peak publisher increase of 630 and an average publisher increase of a paltry 26!.
nothing to shout about on the part of the followers of caiaphas in the britain branch.

so--all those jw's from very different countries--decided to come to the UK--presumably for a better life ? so much for the new system arriving in their home country any time soon.
